Thousands of people turn out each year to come out and view the ice sculptures in Kellogg Park, downtown Plymouth Michigan.  Whether it is freezing cold, snowing or mild weather Metro Detroiters turn out in droves.  They come and enjoy all of downtown Plymouth restaurants, stores, and atmosphere.

This year Station 885 sponsored the attempt to make the world's largest snow cone.  Over 5000 pounds of ice and 900 pounds of syrup were used in the attempt.  I don't know the exact weight of the final cone, but it was over 5600 #.  Now we are just waiting for verification by Guiness Book of World Records to say they beat the record.

There was lots of hard work by many people to make this world record snow cone happen.  It shows the spirit of Plymouth and it's residents.

This year the weather got warm for a few days so the ice sculptures became cloudy and cracked looking.  You never know the weather sometimes it is freezing cold.  It has even rained a few years.

After the snowcone was weighed they started handing out free snowcones to anybody that wanted one.  As you see the happy faces everybody had a great time and enjoyed the snow cone.
