The city of Northville is one of those old time down towns with lots of Victorian homes clustered around it.  The downtown center has lots of unique stores, great eateries, and local bars.  It is not a large downtown only stretching about 3 blocks.  Just big enough to draw a good crowd.  The area of the city of Northville is 2.2 square miles.  Whereas the area of Northville Township is 16.63 square miles.  The population of Northville Michigan as of 2000 was 6500 residents.  The population of Northville Township Michigan is 21,036 as of 2000.    The average median age in Northville Township was 41.4 years.

    Northville and Northville Township are west of I-275, north of M-14 and south of I-96.  If you are looking for Northville real estate you will have access to the major highways to get to Detroit, Ann Arbor, or Northern Michigan.

   The city of Northville has five different parks, 3 baseball diamonds, a senior center, and a recreation center.  There are 3 public golf courses and 1 private golf course in Northville and Northville Township.  The 920 acre Maybury State Park is also in Northville.  Many boy scout, girl scout, and education events are held there.    There are also several small lakes scattered throughout Northville and Northville Township.  Some of the lakes have been made by gravel pit mining.  The Middle Rouge River cuts through Northville and Northville Township.  Some of the Wayne County Parks that are in Northville and Northville Township are Cass Benton and Hines Park.

The City of Northville has a great downtown area filled with small shops and boutiques.  Along Northvilles' eastern edge runs Haggerty Rd.  Bix box stores like Kohl's, Meijers, Costco, Home Depot are along this road.  You can get to two large malls within a 5-10 minute drive of Northville and Northville Township.  Both Laurel Park Place and Twelve Oaks shopping center will satisfy any shopaholic.

Northville Restaurants
Northville is part of restaurant row that is along Haggerty Rd between 6 & 9 Mile Roads.  There are probably 20 different restaurant to satisfy any craving you have.  There are also other restaurants scattered throughout Northville.

   If you are looking for a city that does not have large industrial complexes then Northville may appeal to you.  Though there is everything else you need in Northville and the surrounding areas. (Livonia, Novi, Plymouth, South Lyon)

County Garden Club of Northville

Founded in 1977, our club of 40 active members is committed to community improvement through service, conservation, education, and donation.  Meetings are held at the Cady Inn at historic Mill Race Village the first Tuesday of each month September through June.
